what is collected
The audio you record, and the transcript, notes and summary made from it. If you sign in: your name and email address from Apple or Google. If you buy credit: the purchase record from the App Store or Stripe (amount and date, never a card number). Technical logs of requests, which never contain audio or transcript text.
where it goes
Talking Socks is a service that listens and writes, so the audio and the text made from it are processed by companies we use for that work: Sarvam for live speech recognition, ElevenLabs for the final transcript, and OpenAI for notes, titles and summaries. Sign-in is handled by Apple or Google; payments by Apple (in the app) or Stripe (on the web). Each processes the data to provide its part of the service under its own terms. Nothing is sold, and nothing is used for advertising.
how long it is kept
Without an account, a recording is kept on our server for 24 hours and then deleted. With an account, recordings stay until you delete them or delete the account. Deleting the account removes every recording, transcript and note; the purchase ledger is kept without your identity, as accounting requires.
your choices
Delete any recording from its page. Delete the account from the account page in the app or on the web. In the app, the lock-screen card and the notes-ready notification can be turned off under Account → this phone. The microphone is only used while you are recording, and the phone shows the system indicator whenever it is.
